Reo Stevens' GoPro Angle Test Video

Postby Reo Stevens » Thu Nov 11, 2010 2:51 pm

I recently started to work with GoPro to start to look for a few new angles that the GoPro HD could be used for kitesurfing. Instead of making a bunch of mounts that attached everywhere right away, I just wanted to see what angles had the most potential. So I strapped a GoPro to a extendable painter’s pole and I went for a kite pointing the camera in every direction I could could think of. Here’s what I came up with and it gave me a few ideas for the future.. Let me know what you think and if there’s an angle that you would want to try or would like to see..

P.S. I know some of these are nothing new, but it's an attempt to make these angles/mounts more easily available to you.

Finally some GoPro footage that is viewable. At the risk of sounding like a hater I was growing pretty tired of watching a gp shot video then having to run to the toilet to puke afterward because I was so dizzy. Most of the time I have a hard time watching gp vids. I think it is hard to get a perspective that really shows the action particularly with the line mount. To me it usually just looks like a background swiveling behind a rider but not in this clip.

Agree. This angle is much easier to watch & enjoy. Being able to see the rider in full, along with board & scenery/waves is a step forward in my opinion.

Make the on board or on head mount vids seem like you're look'n thru a peep hole!

Thanks Reo & good luck with further developments.
