Hurricane Sandy’s Epic South Florida Swell

I have spent a lot of time riding and watching waves in South Florida, but can never remember us having such epic surf. The swell that Sandy delivered was all time. I rode two days before the wind went offshore here, and it was amazing, but the surfers really got the best of Sandy. And they deserve it, cause surfing in Miami can be pretty rough.

I wish Sandy could have stayed off the US mainland, never wreaked the havoc that it has caused, and all the suffering. Having been through many hurricanes here, and dealt with the aftermath my heart goes out to all the people affected by its wrath. This superb video that I ran across really captures a lot of the riding here in South Florida, and even though it is not kitesurfing I think you will enjoy watching it. This was definitely the good of Sandy. And if you can spare a few bucks make a donation to the Red Cross, and help people get their lives back to normal. Enjoy, Lonny
